Starting the Spring Season with More Intention
Spring always feels like a fresh start in our home. That excitement is beautiful. And after a long winter, sometimes some bad habits formed. More screens. Less intention. After the business of the holidays, it’s easy to get caught in a slump. But along with more screens and less intention comes more irritability, more tiredness, more fog. So starting the spring season with more intentional activities like these spring and easter crafts make such a difference in our house.
I don’t love complicated crafts. I don’t love expensive scavenger hunts for supplies. And I definitely don’t love buying new things every single year. Over time, I’ve settled on simple Easter and spring craft supplies that we reuse again and again. These are the things I actually keep in our craft and homeschool drawers and pull out when inspiration hits.
In this post, I’m sharing 12 simple spring and Easter craft supplies kids actually love, grouped intentionally so you can build a small, reusable craft stash without overwhelm. If you’re craving more intentional living and less frantic prep around craft time, this is for you.

Why Simple Spring & Easter Crafts Matter in Motherhood
Craft time is not about Pinterest perfection. It’s about connection and letting kids explore creatively without you feeling drained before dinner. You might also like this blog post here for 10+ easy Christmas crafts for toddlers.
I’ve noticed that when I keep things simple:
- My kids stay engaged longer
- I feel calmer and more grounded
- Pressure for perfection doesn’t ruin the entire experience
- Clean-up isn’t annoying
It sounds small, but that matters for my health, my nervous system, and the overall wellness of our home. Intentional living doesn’t mean doing more. It means choosing what actually supports your family.

Basic Spring & Easter Craft Staples You’ll Use All Year Round
These are the backbone of every spring and Easter craft in our house. I buy these once, usually in bulk through Amazon or top up at the dollar store.
1. Construction Paper Packs
Construction paper is endlessly useful. From Easter cards to spring flowers to impromptu cutting practice, this is one supply I never skip. Look for larger multi-color packs so you are not rationing colors halfway through a project. This 600 pack from Amazon will keep you stocked up all year long.

2. Washable Paint Sets
Washable paints feel essential when crafting with young kids. I’m mindful of choosing options that feel non-toxic and easy to clean. Paint is messy by nature, but it doesn’t always need to feel stressful. Check out this 8 pack of paraben-free tempera paint from Amazon.
3. Paint Brushes And Sponges
A small variety pack is all you need. Thick brushes, thin brushes, and a couple of sponge options keep things interesting without clutter. This 35 pack from Amazon has brushes and sponges of all sizes.
4. Glue
So many crafts need glue. Sticky, messy glue. But here’s your reminder that glue sticks are underrated. They dry quickly, feel manageable for little hands, and don’t turn into a sticky disaster the way liquid glue sometimes can. I like ones like these ones here from Amazon that go on purple and dry clear!

Side note… is this glitter glue ringing some serious nostalgia for anyone else?
5. Safety Scissors
These may not look effective, but we personally use these and they cut through anything from construction paper, cardboard and craft foam… but safe on little hands and fingers. I like this 3 pack from Amazon… no fighting over scissors here!
5. Craft Tissue
These are very nostalgic for me. So many different crafts and ideas from flowers to egg decorating make these the perfect staple for any spring craft. This bulk multipack from Amazon has every colour you could need.

7. Craft Accessories
From googley eyes to pipe cleaners, pom-poms, popsicle sticks and craft feathers, it has everything you need! This kit is an absolute staple for crafts all year long.

12 Spring and Easter Crafts That Feel Special
1. Soft (Pretend) Eggs
Foam eggs are one of my favourite Easter swaps. They are the foundation to so many easter crafts. They’re less fragile and easier for small hands. I like these larger 12cm diameter ones. Decorating them becomes a calm activity instead of a high-stakes event 😂

2. Sticker Sheets
Stickers are an instant win. They work for cards, paper crafts, and even quiet time activities. I store them by season so Easter feels exciting without being overwhelming.

3. Easter Stamps and Ink Pads
Stamps are such a simple way to make kids feel creative. They add structure while still allowing freedom. We use them year after year, and they always feel new again. This Melissa & Doug set is absolutely perfect and I highly recommend!

4. 3-D Wooden Flower Garden
These are so incredibly simple but kids love this. Paint, colour, and decorate the flowers and make a unique flower garden.

5. Easter Egg Sun Catchers
These tissue paper crafts trigger some serious nostalgia for me.
