As a new blogger, it is important to prioritize consistency — but the month of November was such a busy month in my personal life, ahead of the holidays, and I am so thankful I was able to take a step back from being online and I was still able to grow on my blog, and yes, earn some income!
In this blog post, I am going to share my November 2025 income and expenses and how I got there. To read about my blog growth and strategies, read the related post here.

Here is a breakdown of where Let’s Glow sits financially, six months into blogging and three months into having an actual strategy:

Costs Explained
I have not yet earned enough revenue to break even on my start-up costs for my blog, so I am still in the “investment” stage. This investment is both time and money. But the beauty of blogging is that just a little while of investment can pay off hugely ❤️ Check out this blog post here for a more detailed explanation of the costs of starting a blog.
Hosting
I host through Bluehost, because they are the most affordable and they integrate with WordPress which I find to be incredibly user friendly. Sign up through my link here and get exclusive pricing at $1.99 a month!
Domain Purchase
This is a necessary cost for any blogger, and that is your domain purchase (your website name/URL). It is the cost of your little corner of the Internet. Read what happened here when I tried to build my blog around a domain I didn’t own 😅
Storage and Backup
I purchased this through Jetpack after a few months of blogging and realizing that if I were to lose everything, I would be absolutely devastated. For under $100 I can protect my blog and my countless hours of work that I am literally putting my heart and soul into!
Anti-Spam
CleanTalk AntiSpam not only blocks spam but it removes all existing spam once activated. At $17CAD a year this is well worth the investment! It is probably one of the easiest things I have done to protect my site.
Theme Installation
I got my theme from Creative Market and the installation and activation was so easy! From there you customize and design your site appearance and widgets to how you like it and make it your own. Read this blog post here about CSS coding to really make your site exactly how you like it.
Domain Privacy
This is a new one for last month — one morning I got a very strange phone call, from someone with a very strong accent that I could hardly understand, with a lot of background noise and sounds of other people talking on the phone… yup, a call from some sort of makeshift call center. Pitching me some sort of service for my site. I demanded to know how the caller got my personal phone number. “From your domain, ma’am!” The man said. I immediately hung up in shock. And, I immediately purchased domain privacy from Bluehost. It was shocking that my personal information was out there for anyone in the world to see. I knew that was a risk with having a public website, but I didn’t think it was a big deal… until I got my first unsolicited phone call. So, the peace of mind and privacy was well worth the $15 for the year.
Monthly Costs Explained
Tailwind
Right now my only monthly investment is Tailwind, the leading Pinterest scheduling tool. It is a complete lifesaver for me as someone who wants to spend as little time on screens as possible! For $35CAD a month I can schedule hundreds of pins instead of pinning all day every day. Read this blog post here about my Pinterest growth strategy.

Blog Income Explained
Ad Revenue
This month I have not earned any ad revenue, and I was actually rejected by AdSense for a third time. But each rejection is just an opportunity to improve!
Affiliate Income
This month I had a ton of movement on my affiliate links, which was so exciting! Although I made under $10, that is about double what I made last month, and of course my hope is that I keep earning and growing. I love sharing products that I actually use and love.
I have been doing affiliate marketing for several years. My main source of income from Instagram is actually my network marketing business with Arbonne. However, I consider income from links on my blog to be affiliate income whether it is through Arbonne or another partner I have (if the income comes specifically from blog links).
Product Sales
This month my product sales were $0.00; this is to be expected, because I have been focusing on my site overall, writing blog posts, my affiliate links, and my social media/Pinterest. Over the summer I started my product shop here I create and sell digital products. I did this with WooCommerce and I absolutely love it.
Examples of products I’m currently selling:
- 26-Week Glow Cleaning Schedule | Simple, Real-Life Routines for Moms
- Weekly Meal Planner (With Shopping List)
- Social Media Guide – A FREE Guide To Getting Your Content SEEN
I definitely have more ideas for more digital products, but that adds another layer of strategy and they are also just very time consuming to plan, create, and publish — so my plans for that are just remaining plans for now.
Looking Ahead for December 2025 + Beyond
Right now my monthly cost is just for Tailwind. That means once my start up costs are earned back, I really don’t need much to earn a profit.
This is why I decided to start sharing these updates and income reports. Not only do the numbers tell the real story, but it reassures other new bloggers that they aren’t alone on a growth journey that may feel slow, especially a lot of our inspiration comes from bloggers who are already successful and are sharing their numbers and income in the tens of thousands or more!
If you are here to follow along, thank you! And let’s continue on this journey together!
