When I started blogging in 2025, I thought my biggest challenge would be finding time to write as a busy mom. What I didn’t expect was the mental load that comes with running a website. Things like security, speed, backups, spam, and whether my site would still be there tomorrow if something went wrong.
That’s why I added Jetpack to my WordPress.com site.
As a stay at home mom, my brain is already full. I’m managing schedules, meals, big emotions, and a household that never really shuts off. I didn’t want my blog to feel fragile or stressful on top of that.
Going into 2026, I wanted my blog to feel like a stable foundation instead of another source of pressure and stress. Jetpack has become an essential part of that, without adding more to my mental load. As a beginner blogger, it was easy to install and set up and then it essentially did the work for me.
In this post, I’m going to show you the Jetpack features I actually use and why they’re especially helpful for new bloggers to help keep their site safe (and fast!).

1. VaultPress Backup: Blog Backups That Help Protect Your Hard Work
This might be one of the most valuable tools that Jetpack provides (in my opinion). One of my biggest anxieties early on was losing everything. It’s never happened to me before, but the countless hours I have put into my posts, pages, and site design were too important to me, and the thought of waking up one morning and having it all be gone terrified me. I don’t think I’d even know how to start over.
Most of my writing happens in short pockets of quiet, during nap time, early mornings, or late evenings. And they reflect my real life and real experience. Losing that work would be like losing a part of me.
Choosing Jetpack to backup up my site was an easy choice. It creates automatic backups of my site, and if something ever breaks, I know I can restore it with a few clicks. That peace of mind matters so much to me.

2. Jetpack Scan: Simple Blog Security and Spam Protection
I don’t want to think about malware, login attacks, or spam issues. My brain is full enough with posting, Pinterest, site design, and being a mom. I just want my site to work when I open it and not see my inbox full of bot submission forms. Jetpack adds layers of security in the background that is completely customizable, without me needing to understand the technical side. Things like basic protection against login attempts, malware scanning, bot comments and form submissions, and basic monitoring happen quietly and automatically.
I spent years on social media and the mindset there was any comment is a good comment. This isn’t true on your blog. Spam comments can reduce credibility on your site.
That is why Jetpack’s security with Akismet Anti‑spam is especially important because not only do I want my site to appear clean and not cluttered, I also want to stay compliant for monetization. A site filled with spam can prevent that. A comment or form submission made by a real person is what builds trust, credibility, and a real community, which is what we all want as new bloggers.

3. Jetpack Boost: Faster Site Load Times For Your Blog
As moms, we know how quickly we click away from slow websites (ain’t nobody got time for that). They say you have just a few seconds to catch the attention of your readers — and spending that time on a loading screen is a sure way to turn them away. Plugins and site design can make your site functional and beautiful, but none of that matters if readers don’t even see it.
I didn’t need to manually resize images, sacrifice appearance, or learn anything complicated and time consuming. Jetpack helps optimize images and site performance so pages load faster, especially on mobile. Most of my readers are on their phones, often multitasking (cooking dinner, feeding, in waiting rooms, refereeing children, you name it), and speed makes a difference in whether they stay.
4. Jetpack Stats: Simple Blog Stats That Are Easy To Understand
I’m not interested in becoming a data expert. Google Analytics is great, but I don’t have time to decipher the graphs and data all the time. That’s why I like to use the Jetpack for WordPress mobile app to see my stats any time.
Jetpack stats shows me what I actually care about:
- Which posts are being read
- Where my traffic is coming from
- My daily and weekly views and how they compare (so I can see my growth at a glance)
It’s clear, visual, and easy to check without pulling me into analytics overwhelm. I can glance at it, take note, and move on with my day. No deep dives required!
5. Jetpack for WordPress Mobile App: Blog Editing on the Go
One of my favourite features of Jetpack that I mentioned briefly above is the Jetpack for WordPress mobile app. Not only does it show you your stats at a glance, it works seamlessly with WordPress.com to quickly manage your posts, pages, media, and drafts. It also lets you know the status of your backups. Your home tab is completely customizable so you can manage your blog on the go the way you like it.
Another feature I like on Jetpack’s mobile app is Jetpack Reader, which lets you scroll and discover other published blog posts from bloggers in your niche or in other topics you enjoy. You can connect with other bloggers by liking and commenting on posts and subscribing to blogs. This is a great way to connect and grow your community.
Another feature I like about the Jetpack for WordPress mobile app is notifications. It lets me know when I surpass milestones, someone likes or comments on my posts, I get new subscribers, someone orders from my WooCommerce shop, and more.

Jetpack Is A Blogging Tool That Grows With You
One reason I trust Jetpack is that it grows alongside my blog. When I started, I didn’t need every feature. I just started with the free mobile app. But as my site evolved, Jetpack scaled with it — and that’s when I started valuing the backups, security, and other features. Whether you’re writing blog posts, building an email list, or eventually adding a small shop through WooCommerce, Jetpack integrates smoothly with WordPress.com to support your site along the way.

Why Jetpack Fits the Glow Way of Blogging
At Let’s Glow, I talk a lot about creating systems that reduce overwhelm. Jetpack feels like that for my blog. It supports my site so I can focus on writing, creating, and being present with my kids. I don’t feel like I’m constantly worrying about the technical side or if I’m doing things right.
If you’re building a blog and you want it to feel stable instead of stressful, Jetpack is definitely worth considering as part of your WordPress.com foundation. If you’re just starting out, Jetpack can help support your site from day one.
And if you’re already blogging, it can simplify things you may be managing manually without realizing it.
